Indonesia has the creative work of music are very diverse, both sourced from ethnic music and nonethnic music, with a variety of approaches to work concepts, conventional (traditional), modern (pop) , and postmodern. Materials of music that has been widelypublicized in the form of audio-visual ,articles, books and journals. From a variety of musical works published through writing, generaly written using four notation system; namely:Western Music notation heptatonic (betterknown as the Diatonic), Kepatihan notation (javanese), Damina notation (sundanese), DongdingNotation (Balinese).
Through a descriptive method approach , asimple study was conducted to determine important aspects of the various concepts/ notation systems in the context of material mastery of music/ songs, both ethnic and nonethnic, as a source of inspiration.
Some things uncovered, among others : aspects of technical substance and in each concept or notation system, the benefits of the mastery of song or musical and depelop musical inspiration.

Indonesia memilki karya kreatifitas musik yang sangat beragam, baik bersumber dari musik etnis maupun musik ninetnis, dengan berbagai pendekatan konsep garap, baik secara konvensional/ tradisional, modern/ pop, maupun postmodern. Materi-materi lagu musikaltersebut sudah banyak yang telah dipublikasikan baik dalam bentuk audio visual , artikel, buku, maupun jurnal. Dari berbagai karya musik yang dipublikasikan tersebut, terdapat beberapa tang didokumentasikan melalui bentuk tulisan , pada umumnya ditulis dengan menggunakan empat sistem notasi yaitu: Notasi Musik Barat Heptatonik (lebih dikenal dengan istilah Diatonik), notasi kepatihan (Jawa), notasi Damina (Sunda), notasi dangding (Bali).
Melalui pendekatan metode deskriftif, peneliti sederhana dilakukan untuk mengetahui aspek-aspek penting pada berbagai konsep/ sistem notasi dalam konteks penguasaan materi-materi musik/lagu, baik etnik maupun non etnik, sebagai sumber inspirasi.
Beberapa hal yang berhasil di ungkap, antara lain: aspek-aspek substansi dan teknik dalam setiap konsep/ sistem notasi, manfaat dalam penguasaanmateri lagu/ musikal dan mengembangkan inspirasi musikal.
